Bajans Helping Bajans

As you guys may know, here at The Dream Villas we are advocates of extending a helping hand and giving back to the beautiful island of Barbados. We work with some incredible charities across the island, one being the wonderful Bajans Helping Bajans.

Bajans Helping Bajans is an organisation and community Facebook page which aims to, and succeeds in, providing and delivering food hampers, clothing, and more to vulnerable families in Barbados. Recently, (Feb 2022), the charity has been driving a ‘Back to School’ campaign, in which they’re requesting the donation of school-supply vouchers and hand-me-down uniform/shoes, to supply to children ahead of a new school term. Acts of kindness such as this can make all the difference.

The Dreams Villas donate monthly to the local food banks, in order to provide healthy, nourishing meals to families and children who otherwise may struggle.

“From a young age I have understood the connectedness of everything and everyone, and that we are all our brother’s keeper. The COVID-19 lockdown in Barbados created a huge economic challenge for many Barbadians, and it was impossible to watch while vulnerable families and individuals went without food. We had to do what we could to share and help others, and so Bajans Helping Bajans grew from there.”

“Too many people think that their little act of kindness won’t make much of a difference. But if we all do our little part to help where we are, and with what resources we have, those little parts will add up to make a big difference in the lives of those that really need help. The BHB Food Bank/Drive is definitely proof of that.”

We’re thrilled to be involved with Bajans Helping Bajans, as contributing towards and giving back to the local community is something we hold close to our hearts.
